Caladiums grow from bulbs, not seeds. It is Planted early summer and Sprout in 2–4 weeks. Full foliage shows within 6–8 weeks. Bulbs go dormant in fall — you can dig them up, dry them, and store them until next summer. A beautiful cycle, year after year!
Light:
• Indoors: Bright, indirect light is best.
• Outdoors: Prefers partial shade or filtered sun.
Avoid strong midday sun — it can scorch the leaves!
Watering:
• Keep soil consistently moist, but not soggy.
• Never let the soil dry out completely.
Loves humidity — mist the leaves or use a tray with pebbles and water.
Temperature:
• Ideal range: 21–30°C
Soil:
• Well-draining, rich soil is best.
• Add perlite or peat moss for improved drainage.
Fertilizer:
• Use a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–4 weeks during growing season (spring & summer).
Dormancy Tips:
• In fall, leaves will fade — don’t panic!
• Stop watering, dig up the bulbs, dry them, and store in a cool, dry place until next spring.
Pro Tip: Rotate your pot every few days to encourage even leaf growth and avoid leaning toward the light.
