The Augusta Palm (Strelitzia nicolai) or Giant bird of paradise is a tropical plant with large, upright, paddle-shaped leaves that give it a palm-like appearance. It adds bold, lush greenery to indoor and outdoor spaces and may produce striking white and blue bird-like flowers in maturity. Ideal for creating a modern, tropical atmosphere.
Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light; tolerates some direct sun. Grows slower in low light.
Watering:
Water when the top 5 cm of soil is dry. Keep soil moist but not soggy. Reduce watering in winter.
Temperature & Humidity:
Thrives in warm conditions (18–27°C). Prefers moderate to high humidity; mist occasionally indoors.
Fertilizing:
Feed every 2–4 weeks in spring and summer with a balanced liquid fertilizer. Pause during fall and winter.
